Katilingban Para sa Kalambuan, Inc.
The Center opened in 2008 in Zamboanga and has served children survivors of trafficking coming from western and northern Mindanao, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi. Most of them are girls, and almost all have been abandoned by their families.
The scholarship program extended by PIA brought about changes in the lives of the children who have been victims of sexual trafficking. It boosted their morale and they regained their self-esteem. They started to trust the people around them who are committed to helping them. In 2021, PIA provided a grant of $6,000 which went to COVID assistance (food and hygiene care packs). |
