Bukid Kabataan Center

Bukid Kabataan Center supports 59 children who have been sexually or physically abused, neglected or abandoned.

Due to the rise of unprivileged youth being exploited and abused by traffickers, the Good Shepherd Sisters and Caritas, Manila opened a small shelter for girls in Pandacan, Manila in 1983. In 1989,  a recovery and healing center for boys was opened in General Trias, Cavite. The center became known as Bukid Kabataan (Children’s Farm).

The Center has six program components: residential care, an elementary school, organic farming and livestock management, an after care program, community outreach and educational assistance. Run by the Sister Mary Euphrasia Integrated Development Foundation, the Center’s programs are directed toward the healing of children to enable them to have a promising future. The PIA grant supports educational and counseling assistance.

To assist the beneficiaries' families during Christmas lockdowns in 2021, PIA provided $500 in food and hygiene packages.
