Galing Bata FOOD GRANT
As part of COVID relief response and with the Support of Wells Fargo Bank, Philippine International Aid distributed over 400 hot meals, grocery bags and art activity kits to students in the Bessie Carmichael after-school program in October and Nov 2020 with plans for another May 2021 distribution. To double the impact of the grant to the Bay Area Filipino community, meals were sourced from struggling Filipino restaurants. Through a partnership with the South of Marketing Community Network (SOMCAN) and PhilDev foundation volunteers packed foods and delivered most door-to-door to the SOMA homes of student families.
