Davao School for the Blind

In 2011, there were approximately 592,000 blind people in the Philippines. Davao School for the Blind is the only learning institution for the blind in southern Philippines. There are currently 51 students ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 8 who learn from a full curriculum through lectures and individualized instruction methods. PIA’s grant of $4,000 covers educational assistance and food for the 51 students.
